5 THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND WHEN INSTALLING CCTV CAMERAS
When installing a CCTV surveillance camera, here are 5 things to keep an eye out for:
Power and connectivity: After your cameras are installed, you’re will want to make sure everything is connected correctly and working properly. Check your battery life in wireless systems and make sure the Wi-Fi signal is strong enough to get a quality picture. If you’ve wired the system, double-check that every part of the system is powered correctly and working as it should.
Reach: Position cameras high enough where they are out of reach. The last thing you want after placing your security cameras in the perfect spot is to have someone intentionally or unintentionally move it. For family homes, put them where children have a hard time reaching.
Corners: Using corners instead of having your camera placed directly above the area you want to secure is a better way to cover a larger area. Also, it helps you overlap your other security cameras, so there are never any blindspots.
Lighting: For outdoor cameras, try and have them positioned in areas without too much sun. Glare could prevent you from getting a clear image. Likewise, in dark places, you want to consider cameras made for low light.
Clear shot: Make sure anything you place near the cameras after installation doesn’t block their view.
